FEN works to improve the quality, relevance and sustainability of education implementing the Nueva Escuela pedagogical model. Our organization’s primary goals are:

1. Assure that the model is effectively and sustainably implemented.
2. Renew the model so it can be adapted for urban contexts and new target populations,
3. Promote expansion and adaptation of the model, both nationally and internationally.

What do we do?

We provide an educational solution that improves the quality, efficiency and sustainability of education.

Fundación Escuela Nueva uses the Escuela Nueva model and its adaptations (Escuela Activa Urbana® for urban populations and Escuela Nueva Activa® Learning Circles for displaced populations or those in an emergency) to advise national, regional and local governments; national and international organizations; other NGOs; corporate foundations and other organizations on the design, implementation and evaluation of innovative education projects to improve the quality of education and effectiveness of schools or educational institutions.

At FEN we are committed to academic improvement, the promotion of civic and democratic values, peaceful coexistence and the development of social and entrepreneurial skills for the twenty-first century. For that reason, the Escuela Nueva model is the core of our work. The Escuela Nueva model is a social innovation which has been tested internationally and which is recognized as a systemic, cost effective, replicable and scalable solution to address the issues of quality and equity in education.
