The most important result of the Escuela Nueva Learning Circles™ Program is haven effectively impacted national policy.
In addition, results of the application of UNESCO tests in 2004 and 2005, in just 6 months of operation the Escuela Nueva Learning Circles™ achieved 100% enrollment, increased children’s self esteem by 18.5% and obtained the highest level of improvement in both language and math, placing children of the Learning Circles™ 13.9 and 17.3 points, respectively, above the national average.
- Overall, the Escuela Nueva Learning Circles™ program has:
- Improved school retention
- Increased academic performance as measured in standard tests of language and mathematics
- Improved democratic behavior and decreased evidence of violence in classrooms and families
- Increased level of parental involvement and/or mothers
- Created learning environments where children learn positive values, solidarity and coexistence.
- Shown rapid reading and writing with overage students and those at grade
- Decreased observable behaviors of aggression
- Been recognized by parents and families as an excellent temporary solution for their children when the traditional school has not been responsive
The Learning Circles ™ program has demonstrated, through testing and retention indicators, to be an educational "bridge" that restores in students the confidence to learn again, keeping them in school and providing for a more promising future. |
