The Escuela Nueva Foundation’s International Program aims to strengthen and expand Escuela Nueva programs worldwide. We specialize in implementing the Escuela Nueva-Escuela Activa model in new countries, communities and contexts in Latin America and around the world.
Internationally, our main focus is on rural multigrade schools. We have also begun to work in peri-urban settings with our Escuela Nueva Urban Schools™ Program, and with vulnerable populations and populations in emergency through our Escuela Nueva Learning Circles™ Program.
We offer technical assistance on the implementation of the Escuela Nueva model through:
- Teacher training
- Curriculum development
- Demonstration schools
- Monitoring and evaluation.
In addition, we are developing tools and products that lend to the continuous improvement and expansion of Escuela Nueva.
The Escuela Nueva model has an estimated reach of 5 million children in 15 countries.
By 2009, the Escuela Nueva Foundation plans to:
- Reach an additional 1.5 million children;
- Deepen our impact in the 11 countries in which we currently work;
- Begin working in 2 countries in Africa and 1 in Asia.
By 2015, ENF hopes to:
- Reach a total of eight million children
- Expand existing programs
- Develop five innovations to benefit the entire education sector.
