Escuela Nueva Urban Schools Program ™

The Escuela Nueva Foundation, through the Escuela Nueva Urban Schools Program ™, seeks to improve the quality and fairness of the academic offerings for urban and low income children. Rooted in the classroom, this program proposes an institutional transformation that fundamentally improves the education of students.
To achieve this goal we provide strategies, methodologies and resources to promote public ownership in education and improve student’s learning skills. We focus on skills for developing peaceful interaction and coexistence, leadership, self-regulation, self-esteem and autonomy.
The Escuela Nueva Foundation provides personalized attention in classrooms with large groups of students. We provide strategies for dealing with heterogeneity, including differences in learning speed, the role of the teacher as a facilitator of learning processes and learning as a collaborative process.
Other efforts are aimed at:
- Training teachers in participatory teaching strategies in the classroom.
- Guiding the integration and participation of individual community members in the classroom and the school’s activities.
- Empowering and consolidating the administrative and management team.
