Escuela Nueva in Ecuador
|
Escuela Nueva Volvamos a la Gente continues to develop its pilot projects in various cities of Ecuador, for example Carchi, Imbabura, Quito, Noroccidente de Quito, Latacunga and Ambato.
In the first stage of the project we offered training workshops for teachers, school directives and ChildFund personnel working in rural areas. We also visited schools to offer one on one interaction, modeling and guidance. We worked in 30 schools, with approximately 90 teachers and 1000 students. Microcenters were held in each of the 5 provinces. We celebrated an Open Day at Imbabura and Northwest Quito in which students and teachers demonstrated their learning and shared their EN experiences with their family and communities.

Escuela Nueva in India
In May 2010, Escuela Nueva invited its future India team to visit Colombia and learn about the EN model. EN India Representative Deepti Doshi, and teacher trainers Irfan Baig and Poonam Rana participated in EN workshops and went on school visits where they observed the implementation of the EN model. They visited two schools in Paipa (El Salitre and San Jose) and one in Tunja with EN colleagues Pedro Pablo Ramirez, Isabel Romero and Susy Cabrales.
At El Salitre School, they observed the EN model from Nursery to fifth grade. They met with teachers to share ideas and experiences on the implementation of EN and the learning materials used in the classroom. |
